UNICEF is looking for a dynamic professional experienced in empowering adolescents and youth, knowledgeable about action learning and 21st Century Skills.
The support implementing, researching and technical analysis provided by the Adolescent Development Officer will strengthen the advocacy, planning and formulation of adolescent development and participation programmes. The achievement of concrete and sustainable results from the adolescent participation, civic engagement and social entrepeneurship programmes will contribute to achievement of UNICEF goals in the country to promote the full and active participation of adolescent girls and boys in determining their essential needs, promoting their rights to a safe environment and protecting their rights to survival, development and well-being in society.
The Adolescent Development Officer will report to the Deputy Representative, and will drive the adolescent programme, through professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process. Including the application of theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing and presenting technical programme information following UNICEF's organizational rules, regulations and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: 
- Support to programme development and planning: Provide professional technical assistance in adolescent programme development and planning;
- Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results: Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues and partners to collect/ analyze/ share information on implementation issues, suggest solutions on routine programme implementation. Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, programme reviews and annual programme reviews with Government and other partners. Manage, monitor and report on the use of adolescent development and participation programme resources;
- Technical and operational support to programme implementation: Assess programme progress and provide technical support to relevant stakeholders through field visits and surveys. Provide technical and operational support to government partners, NGO partners, UN system partners and other country office partners/ donors on the application and understanding of UNICEF and adolescent development and participation policies, strategies, processes and best practices;
- Networking and partnership building: Facilitate partnership and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and provide them with technical assistance and capacity building to ensure programme sustainability;
- Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building: Apply innovative approaches and promote good practice to support the implementation and delivery of concrete and sustainable programme results. Participate as resource person in capacity building initiatives to enhance the competencies of clients/ stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: 
- Education: Master's degree or equivalent in one of the following fields: Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Gender or another relevant technical field.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of professional experience in social development planning and management in adolescent development related areas;
- Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset;
- Experience working on gender equality and empowerment of women and girls is an asset;
- Experience working in a UN agency or other international organization is considered as an asset.
Languages:
- Fluency in Armenian and English languages; knowledge of another official UN language, such as Russian, is an asset.
