JOB DESCRIPTION: 
WFP Armenia is in need of a strong IT support and therefore is seeking a candidate who will coordinate and guide Information Technology maintenance and will support activities to enable the effective delivery of IT services. The successful candidate will demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with general guidance using judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis. The IT Operations Associate will directly report to the Deputy Country Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
- Carry out system and hardware maintenance tasks, such as running specialized network monitoring and system protection, to ensure technology is running effectively;
- Operate the Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Virtual Private Networks and firewall;
- Test, install, manage the operation and maintenance of HF and VHF radios (including programming), PABX telephone system, satellite (including VSAT) and other telecommunication systems;
- Ensure timely installation, maintenance and upgrading of LAN/ WAN information systems (e.g. Resource Mobilization, Logistics Management, Purchasing, Financial Accounting, anti-virus and corporate standard applications, etc.) to ensure optimal services in compliance with standard operations procedures;
- Receive, test, and install IT and telecommunications hardware; perform maintenance and minor repairs on hardware equipment;
- Perform back-up of the critical data;
- Monitor technology reliability, identify user needs, analyse data and produce accurate reports in order to recommend IT solutions to support informative decision-making;
- Resolve queries independently, escalating if required, to ensure that standard IT questions are answered and accurate information is provided to staff, provide hardware and software troubleshooting and user support to all office locations;
- Provide standard technical training to end users of commonly used technology and systems, in order to assist WFP staff in conducting their work;
- Support the co-ordination of new application implementation in order to provide WFP staff with the tools they need to perform effectively;
- Draft standard material such as end-user and technical documentation to ensure staff have access to required information about IT services and products;
- Implement improvements to methods and processes within the IT Unit in order to support the continuous improvement of IT services provided;
- Coordinate installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems and equipment, to ensure optimal services in compliance with standard operations procedures;
- Act as the focal point for IT Procurement; create purchase requisitions for ICT goods and services; create Good Receipts and Service Entry Sheet; review and approve/ match ICT goods and services in corporate invoice tracking system; participate in identifying potential suppliers, evaluating bids, prepare contracts with suppliers; maintain Roster of WFP Suppliers ensuring that proper WFP procedures are always followed;
- Act as the focal point for IT and telecommunication equipment in Global Equipment Management System (GEMS) in WFP Armenia; register new ICT equipment and assets and update all data in case of changes/ reassignment of equipment in GESM; prepare inventory loan forms and ensure return of the inventory by the staff members; maintain Loan register;
- Conduct necessary ICT assessments for country office;
- Follow set emergency response processes and procedures as required to provide support in enabling emergency food assistance needs to be met;
- Support the ICT cluster preparations;
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technologies or other relevant field.
Language:
- Fluency (level C) in English and Armenian languages; working knowledge (level B) of Russian language is desired.
Experience:
- At least 4 years of progressively responsible work experience in IT operations and support;
- Experience in analyzing service management results and developing service enhancement recommendations is desired;
- Experience participating in business process re-engineering efforts and identifying service management improvements is desired;
- Experience participating in country office procurement process is desired.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Technical knowledge in Cisco systems and preferably holds a CCNA;
- Experience in ITIL standards and preferred to be certified in ITIL service operations;
- Awareness of overall IT governance structure and system architecture development to support the process and assist in design of interaction between systems;
- Basic understanding of project management principles to provide basic estimates on timing, resource utilization and costs to facilitate the project planning process;
- Knowledge about new technologies and product modifications;
- Understanding of established standards and protocols for service excellence in IT operations to maintain quality of delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction;
- Understanding of customer requests in order to effectively address and manage internal customer needs including identification of recurrent issues to propose long-term solutions; - Ability to conduct a cost-benefit analysis of alternative technologies and vendor service level agreements to consolidate options and assess suitability.
