JOB DESCRIPTION
: 
GIZ is looking for a Junior Advisor for Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development for the EU4Business Project "Innovative Tourism and Technology Development". The Project will be implemented within the framework of "Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training South Caucasus" Programme committed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
RESPONSIBILITIES
: 
The Junior Advisor for Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development is responsible for the following:
- Support the Project Advisor for Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development in implementing daily operational aspects of all issues related to the Project, in particular in pillar 1 of ITTD's component 2 Creation and improvement of investable and innovative technology ventures focusing on entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem development and tech venture pipeline development;
- Carry out research tasks pertaining to the startup ecosystem with a focus on innovative approaches;
- Support the conceptualisation and implementation of the grant process (cycle from preparation, announcement, selection, mentorship, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation) for the tech ventures in collaboration with the project advisor and the administrative experts;
- Support PR/ communication and information sharing activities.
Coordination and Monitoring
- Assist and monitor the development and implementation of project plans and activities in the areas of entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem development as well in tech venture pipeline development in close consultation with relevant stakeholders;
- Contribute to preparing and implementing the coordination process with the partners, as well as joint project activities at the national level;
- Support with the design, preparation and implementation of workshops, seminars, grant schemes, and related events;
- Develop and organise quality assurance measures and suggests necessary changes, improvements and initiatives, using Capacity WORKS and other relevant tools;
- Be ready to take over additional tasks according to the needs of the project or as agreed with the superior;
- Assist with general project planning and project concept development including preparation, organisation and moderation of planning exercises and their implementation, management, monitoring, quality management, evaluation, communication and documentation (using Capacity WORKS and other relevant tools);
- Support the coordination of relevant project activities at local level in consultation with the manager and in cooperation with partners, both as regards implementation and preparing organisational aspects;
- Support the project advisor in project management on behalf of GIZ (e.g. offer preparation, impact monitoring, project progress review, reporting).
Networking and Cooperation
- Support cooperation, regular contact and dialogue with partners, assists with PR and cooperates with relevant organisations, non-governmental agencies and individuals in the project environment and with other projects to improve and maintain good working relationships;
- Support the development of a network of national and international experts from the field supporting key activities for startup ecosystem and pipeline development;
- Support with information sharing activities.
Knowledge Management
- Support the project advisor in ensuring the knowledge transfer to all relevant stakeholders;
- Support the development of strategies and technical/ professional concepts;
- Support with preparation and revision of reports and presentation documents;
- Assist with research activities and studies on entrepreneurship topics.
General Obligations
- Be familiar with GIZ planning, implementation and reporting procedures and their changes;
- Be familiar with other programme components and GIZ-assisted measures, concepts and status of implementation and knows the corresponding experts and staff;
- Represent the interest of the GIZ-assisted measure and always acts on its behalf;
- Carry out important tasks for the project/ programme, even if these are not explicitly cited in the job description.
Other Duties/ Additional Tasks
- Assist other experts, if necessary as translator;
- Perform other job-related duties and tasks at the request of management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: 
- Master's degree in an area that is related to the project objectives, with a focus on a relevant field.
Professional Experience
- At least 1 year of professional experience in a comparable position.
Other Knowledge, Additional Competences
- High self-organisational skills and sense of responsibility, accuracy, integrity and commitment;
- High communication and networking skills, high teamwork abilities;
- Very good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet, social media) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office);
- Fluent written and oral knowledge of English language;
- Willingness to continued learning and training to successfully fulfill the tasks and responsibilities as outlined herein. Relevant measures are identified and agreed upon with the team leader.
