JOB DESCRIPTION : 

Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Head of Office (HoO) at the IOM Mission in Armenia and in coordination with relevant central and regional units, the Project Coordinator is responsible for performing the project implementation and policy formulation tasks of the IOM Mission in Armenia.

RESPONSIBILITIES : 

- Provide support in the planning coordination implementation and monitoring of activities of the mission projects. Follows up on logistical and administrative arrangements;
- Plan and organize project related events such as seminars/ conferences, meetings, presentations, and others; work with experts, consultants, programme staff involved in projects and activities;
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, follow-up on administrative actions, etc.;
- Prepare the results-based donor reports as requested; contribute to project development effort; identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest corrective measures;
- Support in external and media relations and public awareness activities;
- Contribute to project related communication efforts through supporting the drafting and editing of infosheets, briefing notes, event remarks and relevant visibility products;
- Prepare relevant reports under the UN Cooperation Framework; participate in UN thematic working groups; prepare IOM inputs to joint UNCT documents;
- Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/ data on specific project topics, highlighting noteworthy issues for the consideration of appropriate parties;
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation;
- Implement monitoring and evaluation activities and collect data related to project implementation;
- Attend official meetings, appointments and travels as assigned by the supervisor;
- Perform other job-related duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : 

- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Economics, Business or a related field from an accredited academic institution with 4 years of relevant professional experience; or
- Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with 6 years of relevant professional experience.

Experience and Skills
- Experience in project implementation, project development, resource mobilization, project monitoring and reporting;
- Experience in liaison with national, regional and international institutions;
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming;
- Fluency in English and Armenian languages; knowledge of Russian language is desirable.
