JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Chief Accountant will be responsible for technical accounting and statutory matters so far as they affect the Company. The role requires liaison internally with the Director of Finance Deputies, Budgeting and Reporting Department, Financial Transactions Department and externally with the external auditors of the Company, as well as with officials of the tax authorities of the Republic of Armenia.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

- Ensure correct accounting records, ledgers of accounts, accounting procedures and policies are maintained in the Company;
- Regularly check and ensure the accuracy of accounting records, reconciliations of general ledger and sub-ledgers;
- Ensure preparation and submission of statistical and tax reports on VAT, profit tax, non-resident profit tax, income tax, property tax, tax on land, etc., on an accurate and timely basis;
- Ensure the compliance on internal control procedures in relation to documentations approvals and accounting procedures;
- Closely work with Budgeting and Reporting Department on monthly, quarterly, yearly financial and management reporting closure procedures;
- Assist in annual planning and budgeting process;
- Closely work with external auditors on yearly audit procedures, providing requested documents, clarifications and information;
- Responsible for the preparation of internal control schedules and checklists; maintain control procedures;
- Monitor, lead and handle inquiries, investigations initiated by Tax Inspectorate and other governmental authorities;
- Supervise the Accounting Team, train and coach on tax, accounting and internal procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

- Strong accounting background with 15 years of accounting/ operations experience and 8-10 years of supervisory experience as a Chief Accountant with industrial companies;
- Master's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance;
- Completed international accounting qualification is a plus (ACCA and CPA);
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, local tax rules and regulations;
- Strong research and analytical skills;
- Excellent computer skills including advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting software packages as needed (Armenian Software);
- Excellent knowledge of English language;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Highly organized and detail-oriented person with a strong work ethic and demonstrated teamwork skills;
- Ability to function independently and effectively in a self-directed environment.
