JOB DESCRIPTION:
Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Yerevan is seeking skilled and experienced Middle East Arabic cooks to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of traditional Middle Eastern, Armenian, international dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Middle Eastern cuisine and be able to create delicious and authentic dishes that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.Work Environment:
- The Middle East cook will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a focus on preparing and cooking traditional Middle Eastern dishes.
- The kitchen will be equipped with standard cooking equipment, including ovens, stoves, and utensils.
- The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Middle Eastern dishes, including:a) Appetizers (e.g. hummus, tabbouleh, falafel);
b) Main courses (e.g. shawarma, kebabs, stews);
c) Desserts (e.g. baklava, ma'amoul);
- Follow traditional Middle Eastern recipes and cooking techniques;
- Use fresh and high-quality ingredients to ensure the best flavor and presentation;
- Present dishes in an attractive and appealing way;
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment;
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards;
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective service.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of experience as a cook in a Middle Eastern kitchen;- Strong knowledge of traditional Middle Eastern cuisine and cooking techniques;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent knife skills and food preparation techniques;
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately;
- Strong attention to detail and quality control;
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment;
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal culinary training or certification;
- Experience with halal food preparation and cooking;
- Knowledge of Arabic cuisine and language;
- Experience working in a high-volume kitchen environment.
