TERM: 

6 months fixed-term contract, with possibility of renewal

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Counselor Educator will perform basic counseling and educational activities for patients, families, and communities, following MSF protocols and procedures to improve the patient's health condition.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

- Actively promote the availability of MSF services;
- Carry out, individually or in groups, basic counseling and/ or educational sessions to patients, their families, hospital staff, and/or the community;
- Refer patients when necessary to other specialists or external actors to receive harm reduction measures;
- Communicate and trace patients missing to come for follow-up visits;
- Collaborate with staff of governmental health service for patients to receive optimal and quality medical service;
- Collect and report specific information related to the target group;
- Keep files and statistics updated about the counseling and/ or educational activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

- Education: Desirable, formal degree in social work;
- Experience: Desirable working experience in related jobs;
- Makes part of the target group of patients and is willing to share his own experiences as a patient only valid for peer educators/ counselors;
- Desirable experience in MSF or other NGOs in developing countries;
- Languages: Armenian (mother tongue); good command of English; knowledge of Russian is an asset;
- Knowledge: Desirable computer literacy (word, excel, internet);
- Competencies: Results, teamwork, commitment, flexibility, service.
