JOB DESCRIPTION:
PicsArt is looking for a DevOps Engineer. The incumbent will have one of the most challenging jobs: help to improve the infrastructure that now serves more than 130 million monthly users. The DevOps Engineer will be working in an environment with more than 1000 servers in 4 data centers on different continents, delivering over 95 billion monthly requests and 10Pb monthly traffic. The Company requires professionalism in both soft and hard skills, motivation to grow, learn and share, positive attitude, flexibility, transparency, ownership, enthusiasm and commitment.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help drive the long-term big data architecture and infrastructure by working in conjunction with Product and Engineering Management to align with business goals;- Act as part of infrastructure operations and architectural teams;
- Craft the tools for infrastructure management and monitoring;
- Be accountable for the end-to-end availability, efficiency, reliability and security of the Big Data infrastructure;
- Design and optimize event architecture;
- Build and maintain efficient tooling for the entire engineering productivity;
- Translate data-driven learnings into actionable improvements, both architectural and infrastructural.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's, master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or any other quantitative field;- At least 2 years of experience in a SRE/ SysAdmin, DevOps or equivalent role;
- Working knowledge of big data tech stack (Hadoop, HDFS, HBase, Kafka, Spark, Spark Streaming, Presto, Hive, Drupal, Flume, Samza, and Yarn);
- Solid knowledge of UNIX/ Linux systems administration;
- Experience with configuration automation tools, such as Puppet, Chef or Ansible;
- Experience with container stacks and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, ECS);
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with strong analytical and research skills;
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, motivation and desire for continuous improvement;
- Good written and at least practical verbal knowledge of English language;
- Superb communication and organizational skills;
- Balance of attention to detail with swift execution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of Bash Script and Java (or other OOP language);
- Experience managing a small team;
- Strong programming experience in Python, Scala.
