Full-timeJOB DESCRIPTION:
The Central Bank of Armenia is looking for an Economist-Statistician who likes analytics and has negotiation skills to join the Central Bank Statistics Department team. The ideal candidate should have knowledge in economic statistics, macro and microeconomics.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect information/ data on prices and standard of living statistics, maintain and develop databases, conduct statistical analysis on index trends and prepare reports;- Study RA methodology as well as international best practice on prices and population standard of living, identify the problems and suggest possible solutions;
- Give opinion on amendments of methodological manuals implemented by international institutions, design and update of internal manuals and guidelines related to prices and standard of living statistics;
- Participate in preparation of CBA quarterly inflation report, databank and statistical bulletins data compilation and update.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics or Mathematics;- Knowledge of mathematical statistics and econometrics;
- Knowledge of macroeconomical statistics (particularly price statistics, sectorization, etc.), macroeconomics and microeconomics;
- Fluency in Armenian language; good knowledge of Russian and English languages;
- Flexibility;
- Teamwork skills;
- Problem-solving skills.
Nice to have:
- Work experience in economics or statistics;
- Information about methodologies in statistical papers on prices and system of national accounts published in the websites of International Monetary Fund (IMF), United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), European Central Bank (ECB), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), World Bank (WB), Eurostat, International Labour Organization (ILO), Interstate Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CISSTAT), as well as methodological materials published by the Statistical Committee of the RA.
