JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Legal Officer will provide legal advice on all issues related to the Bank's operations in compliance with Armenian laws and regulations.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide the heads of departments and units, branch managers with legal advisory services in order to maintain a professional banking business in compliance with the latest regulations;- Reply to all legal enquiries via the phone and provide branches and departments with the adequate advice as assigned by the Head of Legal Unit;
- Upon assignment by the Head of Legal Unit, represent the interests of the Bank and its customers (where applicable) in the courts in Armenia, as well as other authorities, including regulators, legal authorities, notaries, etc.;
- Comment on drafts of laws and other legal acts as well as on existing ones upon request of the management of the Bank;
- Draft, review and update all contracts pertaining to the operation of the Bank and verify all templates provided to branches and departments;
- Prepare all documents pertaining to guarantees and verify their accuracy and correct registration at the appropriate legal authorities;
- Prepare all kind of contracts (to be signed by the customer) pertaining to new products or operations as assigned by the Head of Legal Unit and/ or management of the Bank;
- Verify the accuracy of all legal documents provided by clients;
- Assist the Head of Legal Unit in developing legal awareness among the staff, prepare short presentations and small trainings on certain legal issues aimed at maximizing business effectiveness and improving customer service;
- Work on legal research and stay updated on all newly issued laws.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Law;- At least 2 years of relevant experience (experience in banking is preferable);
- Advocate's license will be considered as an advantage;
- Good knowledge of MS Office and other standard applications;
- Fluency in English language, including verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent negotiation skills and communication skills.
