JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is looking for a PPG Project Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The PPG Project Coordinator will perform the following tasks:
- Lead the preparation of inputs to the project document and coordinate the team of consultants, liaising with the Ministry of Environment, other national, regional and local counterparts and FAO;
- Ensure that national consultants deliver their expected outputs in a coordinated manner;
- Coordinate and validate all the official information used in the preparation with national databases, and official websites;
- Coordinate the organization of the workshops.

In particular, he/ she will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Prepare the inception workshop report, including stakeholders' recommendations for the Project Document design, risk analysis and appropriate mitigation measures;
- Identify and describe the baseline and co-financing initiatives;
- Follow the day-by-day project activity;
- Follow the national consultant work and results;
- Obtain co-financing letters and ensure commitment from project partners;
- Develop a proposal for project activities:
a) A baseline report of project component;
b) An analysis of current policies regarding the management of pasturelands;
c) Designing specific component activities, identifying the elements of the logical framework for the component and formulating a budget proposal;
d) Proposal of Terms of Reference for the staff implementing the component;
- Prepare a report of the Final Validation Workshop collecting recommendations from project stakeholders;
- Contribute to the first version of the FAO-GEF Project Document, including draft responses to all donor's comments.

Expected Outputs:
- Inception and validation workshop report;
- Baseline and co-financing initiatives;
- Co-financing letters;
- Draft project activities;
- First version of the FAO-GEF Project Document.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

- 3 years of experience in project preparation, project management and team coordination;
- 3 years of experience in Armenia rural areas and rural development and/ or environmental issues;
- Experience on project preparation;
- Good written capacity in English langauge.
