JOB DESCRIPTION:
UNDP Armenia seeks to hire a qualified Asbestos Screening Specialist(s) under a Framework Agreement. The Asbestos Screening Specialist(s), on a call-off basis, will conduct screenings of buildings to identify the possible existence of asbestos-containing materials, identify potential hazards associated with materials that may contain asbestos fibers, and ensure compliance with the Asbestos Waste Management Guidelines and local regulations governing the identification and management of asbestos in buildings.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct survey of the building(s) to be retrofitted and identify, assess, analyse, and monitor the available asbestos containing materials on a site;- Study technical design documentation of the selected building(s) to undergo retrofit measures and identify potential risks of exposure from asbestos containing materials, providing necessary risk mitigation and management strategies;
- Based on Project’s Asbestos Waste Management Guidelines and the defined template of Checklist for screening of the building, prepare case-by-case report(s) and submit it to the UNDP to ensure further informed decision-making and effective risk mitigation measures' application.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
.Education:
- University degree in construction, engineering, architecture, design, environmental studies or other relevant fields;
- Proof on participation in at least 6-hour training on Asbestos/hazardous substances screening and handling.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in the field of construction, engineering, architecture, design, environmental studies or other relevant fields;
- Experience in conducting asbestos screening;
- Experience in developing studies or reports on relevant topics.
Language:
- Fluent in Armenian and English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
