Full-timeJOB DESCRIPTION:
For its Climate Action & Green Transition team, supporting financial institutions worldwide in the area of mitigation and adaptation finance as well as in environmental management aspects, IPC is currently looking for a Technical Expert in Green/Climate Finance (f/m/d) who will be responsible for the timely and high-quality presentation of IPC's capabilities in the areas of energy efficiency and/or renewable energy. The candidate should be an experienced engineer with relevant work experience in an international context with broad technical expertise in energy efficiency and/or renewable energy technologies. He/she should have strong communication skills and enjoy being an active member of multi-disciplinary teams, working with colleagues and clients in multiple locations. He/she will play a key role as a technical expert in IPC project implementation teams in charge of green/climate finance projects.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct market studies on energy sectors, investment potential, technological levels, suppliers and local know-how;- Conduct baseline assessments, define eligibility criteria and develop catalogues of standard green investment measures;
- Conduct techno-economic feasibility studies for energy and resource efficiency and renewable energy investments;
- Develop and provide trainings;
- Provide consultancy support and conduct short-term and long-term assignments ideally with IPC clients.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in engineering;- At least 5 years of practical experience in working with energy efficiency or renewable energy technologies or green/ climate finance;
- Experience with GHG accounting methodologies or climate risk reporting;
- Experience with green/ climate bond taxonomies and standards;
- Interdisciplinary project experience as well as aptitude and enthusiasm for training;
- Excellent command of English;
- High interpersonal skills coupled with the ability and determination to communicate in a sincere and open manner;
- Willingness to travel and interest in short and long-term assignments to IPC projects;
- Experience in the financial sector and co-operation with financial institutions will be considered as an advantage.
