The role of the Managing Director will be to carry out the administrative actions of the 2022 Horizon Europe ERA Chair project titled “Regional Center of Excellence at the Orbeli Institute of Physiology”. The successful applicant will work closely with the ERA Chair holder, Prof. Narine Sarvazyan, to develop a detailed project roadmap in order to maximize the impact of the proposed deliverables and to oversee the activities of a newly formed ABREC bioimaging center.The administrative actions will include the implementation of key structural changes within the Orbeli Institute of Physiology aimed at improving its research and compliance environment. The Managing Director will be responsible for overall project management including budget control, effort coordination, personnel recruitment logistics, outcome dissemination, development of promotional materials, and filing agency reports. She/he will also oversee the creation of two new administrative units: the Grant Writing and Intellectual Property Office and the Ethics and Compliance Office. The first unit will assist with the submission and management of intramural and extramural grant proposals, training in scientific writing, and intellectual property protection. The second unit will be composed of three subcommittees, covering the proper use of animals, human subjects research, transfer of clinical materials, safety, and biohazards. The overall management structures created by the Managing Director are expected to evolve and persist beyond the duration and the scope of the Horizon Europe project.
ԱՆՀՐԱԺԵՇՏ ՈՐԱԿԱՎՈՐՈՒՄՆԵՐ՝
- Relevant biomedical background, i.e., Ph.D., MD, or MPH degrees;- Experience in managing large international grants;
- Understanding of worldwide regulations involving various compliance issues;
- Knowledge of English and Armenian languages.
