ОПИСАНИЕ ДОЛЖНОСТИ: 

GIZ Armenia is looking for an Accounting Specialist for its Country Office. The specialist will work on all job orders within the remit and is the main contact for advising managers and other staff members on all issues in the thematic area, particularly as regards financial administration in accordance with GIZ standard processes and financial planning, monitoring, and accounting of GIZ Projects and the Country Office in frame of replacement. The Accounting Specialist organizes and coordinates a smooth cooperation with staff members in the Finance Department of the GIZ Head Office and does so in an effective manner as well as coordinates all issues within the assigned area of work and ensures that they are delt with promptly and competently.

ОБЯЗАННОСТИ: 

The position holder is responsible for:
- Ensuring that financial administration functions well in accordance with the GIZ standard procedures;
- Resolving problems that arise in the assigned area of responsibility based on existing rules and drawing attention to more complex challenges in the team;
- Preparing and conducting of internal controls (IC);
- Knowledge management, preparing and sharing documentation.

Tasks
- Responsible for monitoring and accounting for GIZ-assisted projects;
- Monitor real accounts (payables, receivables) and report regularly to the officer responsible for the contract and cooperation and the accounting manager;
- Check the vouchers and receipts submitted by the projects/programmes for completeness and allocation to cost units and categories, correct these where necessary;
- Check financial reports of financing and local subsidy contracts;
- Advise the projects on financial aspects;
- Carry out internal controls of project administrations in accordance with Processes and Rules of GIZ (P+R) and with the audit questionnaires for internal controls of offices and projects in frame of the annual plan for internal controls;
- Advise the respective project staff members on quality standards in the frame of internal controls and support to capacity building;
- Carry out accounting tasks using WINPACCS accounting software and preparing monthly end-of-period accounts and bank reconciliation vouchers;
- Responsible for proper paper and electronic filing in line with P+R;
- Be involved in process development within the remit;
- Replace other Accounting and Finance Specialists during the absence;
- Perform other duties and tasks at the request of management.

ТРЕБУЕМАЯ КВАЛИФИКАЦИЯ: 

- University degree preferably in Economics or equivalent skills and professional experience in financial activities;
- Very good MS Office skills (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications. high affinity to IT-relevant topics and digitization processes;
- Several years of professional experience in the field of finance or bookkeeping;
- In-depth knowledge of GIZ's internal processes and procedures is an advantage;
- Strong team player and high degree of integrity, confidential handling of data and information;
- Strong and keen customer and service-oriented attitude; trustworthy, reliable, responsible person;
- High attentiveness to detail;
- Proficiency in English and Armenian languages; further language skills in German are an advantage;
- Willingness to upskill and reskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.
