ОПИСАНИЕ ДОЛЖНОСТИ: 

The East-West Management Institute, Inc. (EWMI) invites applications by international and national experts for the Chief of Party (COP) position as part of EWMI’s proposal for USAID’s upcoming five-year Promoting Human Rights in Armenia (PHRA) Activity.

Overall responsibilities:
The COP, based in Armenia, will serve as the overall leader for the PHRA Activity, responsible for managing all aspects of the project including meeting PHRA’s technical goals while providing overall administrative, budgetary, and logistical oversight. The COP will also act as the principal liaison between EWMI and USAID/Armenia, and PHRA’s government and civil society partners.

ТРЕБУЕМАЯ КВАЛИФИКАЦИЯ: 

- At least 10 years of relevant experience working on supporting the protection of human rights, preferably including developing laws and regulations needed to protect such rights, and/or experience building the capacity of organizations charged with implementing such laws and regulations (e.g., ombudspersons organizations);
- Demonstrable knowledge of international human rights standards and protections, and of global and European human rights legal instruments and organizations;
- Prior experience cooperating with international and European civil society organizations that promote the protection of human rights;
- Prior successful experience as a USAID Chief of Party of Deputy Chief of Party implementing human rights, civil society, or rule of law programming;
- Knowledge of Armenian history, culture, and law, with preferred prior experience working in Armenia or elsewhere in the South Caucasus or other parts of the former Soviet Union;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally;
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills in English; fluency in Armenian preferred;
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, with a graduate degree preferred, in political science, public administration, international relations, law, or related field.
