ОПИСАНИЕ ДОЛЖНОСТИ: 

CARD Foundation is looking for a Project Expert who will work for “Herbs for Growth” (HEGO) project funded through EU Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Programme. The Expert will create a training module for the upcoming training activity of the Project. The main objective of the HEGO Project is the change of the production model for herb products in all Project Countries (Greece, Moldova, Georgia and Armenia), which will lead to the positive effect on improving the economic and business performance of the herb sector and indirectly on contributing to the biodiversity conservation of endemic herb plant species, with the sustainable utilization in the Project countries.
The HEGO Project addresses to the above-mentioned common challenges by developing training tools and by applying them in activities:
a) Informing and educating farmers for reducing collecting herbs from the wild and promoting agricultural diversified new cultivations with improved trade value added products (endangered and endemic herb plant species for processed products);
b) Informing and educating farmers on how to adapt to new challenges in farming entrepreneurship, trade and product quality with reference to herb products;
c) Establishing and promoting “research to business” networking linkages among research organizations and relevant enterprises with reference to the improved value of herbs, especially for endemic species, having potential markets in Food industry, Pharmacy and Cosmetics;
d) Establishing and promoting multi-lateral cross-border and international trade links for herb products produced in BSB countries participating in the proposed Project using ICT and Marketing and Branding Strategies;
e) Improving the access of agricultural enterprises in granting and investment schemes, as well as in initiatives for the creation of clusters in agricultural sector.
Within the frames of HEGO Project described above, the Expert shall elaborate an offline training module on Herb Cultivation for up to 20 participants with duration of 120 hours regarding plant health conditions and weed control, processing, storage/ post-harvest practices, identification of plant health problems, drying techniques, etc. The module consists of two main parts including theoretical and practical modules. The anticipated duration and breakdown of modules is presented below:
- Theoretical module:
a) Botanic Gardens and Farm Schools as conservation tools (15 h module);
b) Sustainable conservation and utilization practices of herb plant species (15 h module);
c) Processing/ storage, post-harvest practices (20 h module);
- Practical module:
a) Sustainability/ transforming the unsustainable attitude of collecting herbs in mountainous to the farming of innovative products (70 h module).

ТРЕБУЕМАЯ КВАЛИФИКАЦИЯ: 

- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Botany or other relevant professions;
- At least 5 years of experience in working in agriculture/ herb sector;
- Data analysis, illustration and presentation skills;
- Module writing and teaching skills;
- Fluency in English and Armenian languages.
