BSC Business Support Center was established in March, 1994 in the framework of European Union’s Technical Assistance to CIS Countries (TACIS) programme as an Armenian Foundation for Small and Medium Enterprises (AFSME). In July 1996, the organization was reorganized to the private and self-sustainable business consulting, research and training company. It is considered as one of the most successful projects of the EU TACIS Program as it became a 100 percent financially sustainable firm in a newly formed free market economy with no reserved funds. BSC has demonstrated tangible achievements during the twenty years of its existence (1994-2014). It is the leader in training market as well as has strong positioning in the consulting and research field in Armenia. It has provided over 1,100 business training courses, seminars and other educational programs to over 12,000 representatives of private and public sectors, international organizations and communities. It has developed more than 650 business and investment plans and feasibility studies for local and international companies and organizations from all sectors of economy. BSC has implemented over 70 major surveys and baseline studies and analyses for several sectors of industry in the capital city Yerevan and in different regions of Armenia. BSC developed partnership relationships with 500 partners from Armenian companies and international agencies. Sectors covered: Banking and financial sector, food processing, construction, agriculture, tourism, IT and other sectors. BSC has invested its efforts in building awareness of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) concepts among private enterprises and public sector representatives in Armenia. It has been over five years BSC in collaboration with its international and local partners has been addressing to CSR issues in the Armenian society and private sector.
