JOB DESCRIPTION: 
The International Crisis Group is seeking a motivated independent Consultant to support its Europe and Central Asia program in the South Caucasus region.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The contracted Consultant will work closely with Crisis Group analysts in Tbilisi and Baku, and will assist them with:
- Desk-based research of conflict-related developments in the region;
- Drafting of background briefing and updates on conflict-related risks, issues and trends;
- Drafting of memos and other internal documents;
- Contribution to event management; and
- Contributing to project management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
- High proficiency in written and spoken English language and professional fluency in Russian language; proficiency in one of the languages of the region is preferred;
- Strong computer skills;
- Proven research skills in the topic of conflicts, international affairs and security in the South Caucasus region;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment and work with people and organisations of diverse backgrounds, experiences and cultures;
- Experience of working independently, and support and respond to the policy-related needs of Crisis Group's staff members based in the region;
- Based, and eligible to work, in the South Caucasus region;
- Working knowledge of Armenian and Azerbaijani languages is desirable;
- Previous experience in elementary programming is a strong plus.
