Join the Youth Biodiversity COP17 Simulation – Armenia 2026 (SCOP17 CBD Armenia)* – an international youth simulation of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity Conference of the Parties (COP17).

Participants will engage in:

- Multilateral negotiations
- Policy drafting and diplomacy
- Coalition-building and stakeholder dialogue
- Crisis-response simulations
- Youth-led environmental governance discussions

You will take on the roles of:

- Country delegates
- Scientists and experts
- Civil society representatives
- Media observers
- Indigenous Peoples, Local Communities and Afro-descendants
- Youth advocates

The simulation will bring together students, researchers, young professionals, and activists from Armenia and abroad to explore the future of biodiversity governance in a realistic UN negotiation environment.


Main themes include:

- Environmental human rights
- Biodiversity finance
- Climate adaptation and ecosystem restoration
-Indigenous Peoples, Local Communities and Afro-Descendants Rights
- Science-policy interaction
- Youth participation, gender equality and inclusive governance
- Synergies between the Rio Conventions and other international law treaties


Participants will contribute to the: COP17 Yerevan Declaration on Biodiversity Action

The Biodiversity COP17 Simulation is open to students, schoolchildren, young professionals, researchers, and emerging leaders aged 17–35 from diverse academic and professional backgrounds.

We strongly encourage persons with disabilities to participate. If you require reasonable accommodation or any other support to participate, please let us know.

The organizing team will cover the following costs:

- Transportation in case the participants are coming from different regions of Armenia
- Accommodation, both for local and international participants
- Five participants studying at Belgian universities will get travel grants kindly provided by the Embassy of Belgium in Armenia
