About The Team
The Marketing and Communications team is a vital component of the organization's success, responsible for sharing Teach For Armenia's story of impact and engaging external stakeholders—including government entities, donors, collaborators, and supporters. Through a mix of digital and non-digital channels, the team ensures that the organization’s mission and achievements reach the right audiences effectively.
As part of the larger Advancement Division, which also includes the Development team, Marketing and Communications collaborates closely with internal teams and program/project leaders. This collaboration is essential for attracting top talent to the organization and its programs, while also strengthening partnerships that support Teach For Armenia's vision. The team's work is critical to amplifying the organization's message and inspiring action across diverse stakeholder groups.
About The Role:
The Head of Marketing and Communications is primarily responsible for shaping and driving Teach For Armenia’s strategy to develop a compelling story of impact and an engaging external image. This role plays a critical part in inspiring stakeholders—whether individuals or organizations—to join or support Teach For Armenia’s mission to end educational injustice. Together with the department, the Head of Marketing and Communications is the primary responsible for continuous increase of Teach For Armenia’s brand awareness, and positioning in the larger educational and development foundation ecosystem.
To achieve this, the Head of Marketing and Communications works in close partnership with the Senior Leadership Team and collaborates with Department Heads across the organization. Together, they craft multi-year strategic plans that align marketing and communications efforts with Teach For Armenia’s growth objectives, ensuring the organization’s message resonates with diverse audiences and fuels its mission.

- Strategic Communications and Brand Leadership: Proven ability to develop and implement multi-year communication strategies that strengthen brand identity, amplify impact, and align with organizational goals. Experience in building and maintaining a cohesive, compelling public image,
- Data-Driven Marketing and Audience Engagement: Expertise in using data insights to drive strategic marketing decisions, including audience segmentation, donor engagement, and targeted campaigns. Proficiency in digital and traditional media to expand reach and influence,
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership: Demonstrated ability to work across diverse teams to align marketing and communications strategies with organizational priorities. Skilled in guiding and managing teams, vendors, and contractors to deliver high-quality outputs,
- Team Management: Demonstrating exemplary team management practices, including effective project management, meeting facilitation, and professional development for team members,
- Budget Planning and Management: Demonstrated expertise in planning and managing departmental budgets.

The Work:
For this role, the key responsibilities will include:
Drive Strategy (30%)
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team, Department Heads, and the Marketing and Communications team to assess organizational visibility needs,
- Develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan to enhance visibility, attract donors, supporters, partners, and recruits, and elevate Teach For Armenia’s brand,
- Build and nurture relationships with media outlets, including traditional platforms (e.g., TV, radio, print) and social media channels,
- Lead the development and execution of branding opportunities for Teach For Armenia and its programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
Marketing, Communications, and Publications (20%)
- Oversee the design and execution of marketing, information, and communication campaigns, including mockups, storyboards, photo and video content, and other creative outputs,
- Oversee team members to drive strategies in areas such as SEO, social media management, and digital outreach,
- Ensure all content adheres to high visual and linguistic standards across Armenian, English, and Russian,
- Collaborate with the programmatic and other teams to produce publications that establish and reinforce Teach For Armenia’s credibility,
- Lead the production and publication of key materials, including the organization’s Annual Report, and other priority content.
Team Leadership (20%)
- Conduct regular check-ins with direct reports to set priorities, provide guidance, and monitor progress,
- Coach and mentor team members to independently manage departmental projects, leveraging external vendors and contractors when necessary,
- Promote strong project management practices with clear ownership, timelines, and decision-making processes,
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between the Marketing and Communications team and other departments,
- Develop and implement professional growth plans for team members and external collaborators, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement (20%)
- Train and engage staff on brand strategy, marketing priorities, and key messaging to ensure alignment across the organization,
- Work with Department Heads to identify and support visibility opportunities, ensuring representation at key local and international events to elevate Teach For Armenia’s voice,
- Partner with the Head of People and Culture to raise the profile of core programs and attract top talent to the organization,
- As part of the larger Advancement Division, collaborate to design and execute fundraising and positioning strategies through digital outreach platforms.
Supporting Org-Wide Initiatives (10%)
- Actively participate in organization-wide events and initiatives to contribute to the organizational culture and strategic objectives,
- Support cross-functional working groups and projects as needed, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.

ԱՆՀՐԱԺԵՇՏ ՈՐԱԿԱՎՈՐՈՒՄՆԵՐ՝ 
- 2+ years of department head experience in Marketing and Communications;
- A high level of fluency in both Armenian, English, and Russian;
-At minimum, a Bachelor’s degree (required) in marketing, communications, or a relevant field;
- Demonstrated success in leveraging digital tools, social media platforms, and traditional media to engage diverse audiences and drive outreach campaigns;
- Proven experience in developing and implementing multi-year communication and marketing strategies aligned with organizational goal;
- Experience designing and orchestrating high-profile events.
