JOB DESCRIPTION: 
APRI Armenia is looking for a Director of Events and Strategic Convening to join its growing team.
About the role:
Working closely with colleagues across the organization, the Director of Events and Strategic Convening will be primarily responsible for organizing, managing, and executing APRI Armenia’s public events program and strategic convening initiatives.
The Director of Events and Strategic Convening will work under the supervision of the executive team to coordinate in-person, hybrid, and virtual events by working with a large variety of stakeholders. Events may include small-sized gatherings, fireside chats, keynote lectures, panel discussions, lunches, conferences, and more. The Director of Events and Strategic Convening will receive direction from leadership on organizational objectives and work to execute those plans in collaboration with the larger team. They will work to ensure that all necessary elements for each event are in place and the event is successfully organized in a smooth and efficient manner.
Job duties include overseeing event production and project management in Yerevan and cities around the world and engaging with a wide array of global stakeholders. Areas of oversight include venue selection, catering, A/V, video, photography, parking, speaker travel, speaker gifts, and more.
The Director of Events and Strategic Convening will oversee event promotion materials, promoting events across a variety of channels, manage registration and registrant communications, set up and run Zoom webinars, track event budgets closely, prepare event materials, and manage temporary contractors as needed.
This position will be based in APRI Armenia’s Yerevan offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Additional Core Duties:
- Support the design, planning, implementation, and coordination of APRI Armenia events;
- Contribute to vendor and site selection, arrangements, and scheduling;
- Coordinate event registration and confirmations;
- Process purchase requisitions and invoices; track event expenses;
- Provide general administrative assistance for the department; handle phone calls, emails, and other correspondence relating to event(s);
- Coordinate facility, exhibit set-up, equipment, and catering requirements. Provide on-site support, such as check-ins, directions, equipment set-up, and event parking;
- Run database lists, and communicate registration status, reports, and data.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree and 5 to 10 years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and managerial skills, with an attention to detail and deadlines;
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with contacts outside the immediate team;
- Interest in the core areas of work, including foreign policy, public administration reform, and peacebuilding/ regional security;
- Relevant experience in event coordination, both physical and virtual, including a good knowledge of event management software;
- Sound communication skills, with an ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately with a wide variety of people;
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines;
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude to problem-solving, together with a self-starter attitude and an inclusive mindset, and commitment to involving and informing colleagues;
- Knowledge of English and Armenian (Eastern or Western) languages at professional level;
- Previous experience of engaging with the public sector, civil society or international affairs stakeholders will be preferred.

REMUNERATION/ SALARY:
