Background
HEKS-EPER works in development cooperation and Humanitarian Aid in over thirty countries around the world. HEKS-EPER supports local initiatives of partner organizations in the field of civil society development, rural development, income generation and humanitarian aid intervention as well as implements the projects, mandated by institutional donors, such as EU, SDC etc.
The DRR project in Armenia aims to strengthen community resilience and risk-informed development through integrated disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, and stakeholder engagement.
To support its field-based and logistical operations, the organization is seeking a qualified and experienced Driver with their own reliable off-road vehicle. The driver will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation for staff, visitors, and materials, particularly to rural and hard-to-reach locations, while ensuring vehicle maintenance and adherence to safety and security standards.
Objectives of the Assignment
The Driver will provide dependable and secure transport services with their own off-road-capable vehicle, demonstrate a client-oriented approach, and maintain a high standard of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism. The role involves both urban and remote/rural travel under varying road and weather conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide reliable and safe transportation for staff, consultants, and authorized personnel using their own off-road vehicle.
- Transport project materials, documents, and equipment as needed.
- Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, clean, and in roadworthy condition at all times.
- Monitor and cover vehicle-related expenses, including fuel, insurance, maintenance, and registration, with agreed-upon reimbursement terms.
- Maintain a detailed and accurate vehicle logbook.
- Comply with all traffic regulations, security measures, and organizational policies.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical problems to the supervisor immediately.
- Support logistical and administrative tasks such as delivery of supplies, pickup of goods, and coordination of field visits.
- Be available for travel to remote regions and flexible with work hours, including occasional weekends.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or project team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
- Minimum 5 years of professional driving experience, at least 3 years of which with international organizations or donor-funded projects.
- Ownership of a reliable off-road-capable vehicle (e.g., 4x4), suitable for rough terrain and long-distance travel.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Sound knowledge of vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
- Strong familiarity with local road networks and challenging terrain.
- Proficiency in Armenian and English (both spoken and written) is required; Russian is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Capacity to work independently and adapt to changing operational needs.
Work Conditions
- Based in Yerevan, with frequent travel to rural and remote areas.
- The position requires full availability during field visits and flexibility in working hours.
