DETAIL DESCRIPTION: 
The Academy for Educational Development - an independent, nonprofit
organization committed to solving critical social problems in the U.S.
and throughout the world through education, social marketing, research,
training, policy analysis and innovative program design and management -
is organizing "Democratic Leadership Development" Training Program for
NGOs in Armenia. This program is funded by the US Agency for
International Development (USAID) under the Participant Training
Program. The program is being conducted in partnership with the Conflict
Management Group (CMG) based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.
The Democratic Leadership Development Program for NGOs supports the
development of democratic leadership skills among NGOs representatives
in Armenia. The program focuses on democratic leadership skills
associated with negotiation, mediation, conflict resolution, coalition
building, advocacy and networking. The program consists of two sessions,
one of which is for representatives of NGOs working in the Social
Sector, and the other one is for NGOs working in Democracy Sector. There
will be 25 participants in each session. The tentative dates are:
Session I - July 15-July 18, 2003, Session II - July 20-July 23, 2003.
