JOB DESCRIPTION: 
The Role: During the 2020-2021 school year, Teach For Armenia piloted a “Third-Year Teacher-Leader'' initiative, through which they provided a select number of Alumni-Ambassadors to continue teaching through key strategic partnerships. For 2021-2022, they are going to take this program a step farther, by focusing on three key priorities: 1)The Seroond School Leadership Pathway; 2)STEM and English Education in Artsakh, and 3)Change-Based Learning in Syunik and other strategic placements. As an “Instructional Leader”, the incumbent will serve an example to other teachers, modelling best practices to other teachers in their school building. Meanwhile, Teach For Armenia will invest in his/ her development as a teacher trainer and coach - in short, he/ she will serve as an “Instructional Leader'' to other teachers.
The Team: If you are selected to serve as an Instructional Leader through Seroond, you will be placed to teach in one of the three schools. As an Instructional Leader, you will work alongside a Seroond LDM. The Seroond LDM will essentially serve as the school’s de facto Vice Principal, responsible for organizing school-wide teacher training activities. As an Instructional Leader, you will assist the Seroond LDM in facilitating workshops, while serving as a model teacher. Meaning, you may be asked to demonstrate specific methodologies in order to help other teachers develop new skills. At times, you may also be given the opportunity to coach and mentor other teachers.
If you are selected to serve as an Instructional Leader in Artsakh, you will be placed to teach in schools that are in need of STEM or English teachers. Meanwhile, you will be given the opportunity to collaborate in teams across the region through working groups. This will provide you with the chance to influence regional priorities around English or STEM education. The working groups will be organized by the Artsakh Regional Director in partnership with the Minister of Education in Artsakh.
If you are selected to be an Instructional Leader in Syunik, you will help Teach For Armenia with its placement expansion in the south. Simultaneously, you will help students who were recently displaced due to the war to implement student-led Community Impact Projects through Change-Based Learning. This will be a continuation of the work that was previously completed by the Emergency Education Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
General:
- Develop new instructional resources that can be shared in Teach For Armenia's resource library;
- Organize Classes based on Change Based Learning;
- Regularly Host teacher training workshop;
- Host opportunities for parent and community engagement.
Seroond:
- Host peer observations;
- Conduct lesson observation throughout semester, gather information and together with the LDM analyze the results;
- Prepare and conduct SEL workshops for teachers and parents;
- Record the information of Seroond teachers in the Salesforce;
- Have collected data on the individual needs of the students and set realistic goals for 100% of students in the individual classroom;
- Support the development of the tools for monitoring and evaluation of whole school development;
- Develop diagnostic and summative assessment test for the students of the individual class;
- Regularly organize morning and closing circles, as well as storytimes.
Regions:
- Teach and collaborate with the placement school;
- Collaborate with the Regional teams and mentor Y1 TLs;
- Develop diagnostic and summative assessment tests for the students;
- Collect data about the students' academic and non-academic progress, set realistic and measurable goals and work towards growth;
- Fundraise for SLIP/CIP to implement on their own;
- Work on special projects (e.g. Tumo Box, Leadership Integrity Project, etc.).
Location:
Lori (Alaverdi), Artsakh, Syunik, Vayots Dzor.
Note: The exact amount of resources, classes, trainings that have to be developed or conducted, as well as the number of teachers, students and other stakeholders who should be partnered with or engaged in the process will be depending on the schools of placement and will be outlined in the final contract.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
For this role specifically, Teach For Armenia is also looking for a candidate who possesses the following key competencies:
- Subject knowledge: In this role, it is critical that Teach For Armenia finds individuals who have a strong background in their teaching subject;
- Teaching: As an Instructional Leader, you must have solid foundation in key teaching methodologies so that you can serve as a role model to other teachers;
- Community Impact: You must come into this role already possessing experience implementing a Community Impact Project, especially student-led projects;
- Professionalism: In order for other teachers to respect you, it is vital that you carry yourself with the utmost professionalism at all times;
- Collaboration: Teach For Armenia needs Instructional Leaders who will be able to collaborate with the Seroond LDM, the school principal, regional stakeholders, and the other teachers.
Aside from these core competencies, we are also looking for the following qualifications:
- The contract being offered is a “Teacher-Leadership” program, therefore only Alumni-Ambassadors of the traditional two-year program can be considered;
- Knowledge of Armenian language; belonging to an international network, knowledge of English language is preferred;
- By the first day of school, the incumbent should possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Teaching.
