JOB DESCRIPTION: 
The Role: Teach For Armenia is looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) in order to advise the organization as it continues to strengthen its internal data systems and processes. In particular, it aims to contract with the MEL Consultant to help Teach For Armenia design an external study in order to evaluate the Organization’s impact on learning and community innovation. The external study would be done in partnership with an external research institution.
The Team: Given the strategic importance of conducting an external study of the organization’s impact, the MEL Consultant will report directly to the Deputy CEO of Teach For Armenia, and will collaborate with the CEO and Managing Director of Program in designing the study. Additionally, the MEL Consultant will work closely with the Learning and Innovation Team. In particular, the MEL Consultant will advise the Organization’s existing Data and Impact Manager to further strengthen Teach For Armenia’s internal data systems, procedures, and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The outcomes of this contract include:
- Partner with Teach For Armenia’s Program Team, an external research institution, as well as Teach For Armenia’s government and school partners in order to design an external study;
- Conduct a needs assessment of Teach For Armenia’s existing MEL systems and provide a report outlining key recommendation;
- Work with Teach For Armenia’s Data and Impact Manager to document the Organization’s internal data processes and procedures.
Note: Teach For Armenia is a growing nonprofit working within a dynamic system. Its team must be agile as it grows in scale. It is looking for leaders who are resilient and adaptive. That is to say that responsibilities may shift over time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; specialized master’s or doctoral degree is highly desirable;
- At least 4 years of experience in similar impact, data or evaluation-focused roles;
- Experience and confidence in internal monitoring and evaluation, and/ or conducting research and/ or evaluations, and communicating the results;
- Excellent knowledge of Armenian and English languages;
- Desired knowledge of data management systems (e.g. Salesforce);
- Experience in the Armenian education system is an asset;
- Experience with Agile project management would be a plus.
For this role specifically, Teach For Armenia is also looking for a candidate who possesses the following key competencies:
- Research: The MEL Consultant must be highly experienced in research methods, in particular in conducting an external study to evaluate impact;
- MEL Systems: The MEL Consultant must have a strong background in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning in order to advise Teach For Armenia’s Learning and Innovation Team to strengthen its existing systems and structures;
- Project Management: The external study will require skilled coordination between Teach For Armenia and an external research institution as well as a potential program auditor;
- Collaboration: The external study will require close collaboration with Teach For Armenia’s Program Team, an external research institution, various government entities, and our students (as well as our teachers and their students);
- Adaptive and Agile: It will be important to be agile, given the dynamic nature of the work.
