JOB DESCRIPTION: 
The responsibilities of the role are to lead the Accounting and Control function of HSBC Armenia Finance team and act as a risk steward for accounting and tax risks. The role is accountable also for tax reporting, including tax transfer pricing reporting. The job holder will coordinate monthly reconciliation and substantiation processes for General Ledger accounts, conduct cost control and Quality Assurance tests. The role includes also deputizing Head of Accounting and Control responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
- Control over financial and tax accounting to ensure compliance with accounting standards, Group and local regulation requirements;
- Cost control, regular comprehensive analysis of different cost lines for the purpose of suggesting value added cost reduction initiatives and supporting in overall cost management activities;
- Provide professional accounting and tax advice to other departments of the Bank by interpreting accounting policies, tax regulation and providing recommendations;
- Manage the month-end reconciliation process by ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance to account balance control documents;
- Implement testing of the department internal controls as per Finance risks control assessment and control testing plan;
- Implement tax legislation changes and new tax transfer pricing regulation requirements;
- Obtain formal tax advice on uncertain tax matters;
- Provide trustworthy cost estimates during Annual operating plan submission;
- Lead function related projects;
- Provide support to internal and external audits during function related reviews;
- Ensure that function delivers high quality internal and external reports;
- Ensure efficiency by ongoing review, improvement and streamlining of area related processes;
- Stay updated on Banking, Group and Tax regulation changes;
- Work closely with direct reports, coach them and ensure their professional development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
- University degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics;
- 5 years of relevant professional experience; 3 years of experience in tax is a plus;
- Profound knowledge of Tax Code;
- Strong IFRS knowledge and experience;
- Good knowledge of Banking legislation;
- Proficient Excel knowledge;
- ACCA or CFA qualification is an asset;
- People management and leadership capabilities;
- Accuracy and detail orientation;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Strong communication and motivation skills;
- Excellent writing skills in English and Armenian languages.
