JOB DESCRIPTION: 
Peace Corps is a United States Government Agency that provides trained American Volunteers to live and work for two years in communities around the world. In Armenia, Peace Corps Volunteers teach English in rural schools, and work with youth and youth workers to support positive youth development in youth centers, schools and NGOs.
Under the supervision of the TEFL Program Manager (PM), The TEFL Tech Specialist (TTS) will work in close coordination with the TEFL Project Manager to assure Peace Corps Armenia (PC/Armenia) implements a continuum of learning and support from Pre-Departure, through Pre-service Training (PST) into the Volunteers’ Service. The TTS will work closely with PC/Armenia staff, Project Advisory Committees (PACs), TEFL Experts from PC/Washington, and other staff to ensure PC/Armenia meets the needs and requirements to run a quality education project and TEFL certification for Volunteers.
The location of the job is Yerevan, with frequent day and overnight travel throughout Armenia (transportation provided).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
- Education: MA in TEFL, Linguistics or related degree;
- Prior Work Experience: Five (5) years of professional work experience in TEFL training or instruction; 2 years of working with U.S. Americans;
- Language Proficiency: Level 4 language proficiency in both English and Armenian, according to the Interagency Language Roundtable

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
- Well-versed in the Armenian education system including teacher pre-service training (i.e. university instruction), in-service teacher training, and actual classroom instruction;
- Knowledge of local cultural practices;
- Knowledge of U.S. cultural attributes;
- Attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure is essential;
- Ability to pass a security background check conducted by the United States Embassy;
- Ability to travel within Armenia;
- Significant skills in time management;
- Courteous, attentive, and able to give and receive both positive and constructive feedback;
- Demonstrated flexibility, patience and tolerance;
- Collaborative and works well in teams;
- Competency in using the Internet, basic word processing software, and other general office IT systems;
- Competence in using general office equipment and Microsoft Office products.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior Work Experience: Seven (7) years or more of program management; 3 years of working with U.S. Americans;
- Language Proficiency: Level 5 language proficiency in both English and Armenian, according to the Interagency Language Roundtable
