JOB DESCRIPTION
: 
The role of the Medical Assistant (MA) is to perform administrative and clinical duties in support of Peace Corps Medical Officers (PCMOs) and Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) in Armenia.
MA duties include but are not limited to:
- serving as chaperone for PCMO during medical examinations and procedures
- performing a variety of non-invasive routine technical and clinical services under the supervision of a PCMO, which may include clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering immunizations, performing laboratory tests, etc.
- assisting PCMOs in procurement of medical supplies,
- serving as health unit receptionist, screening phone calls & taking messages,
- scheduling and following up on medical appointments,
- distribution of medicine to PCVs,
- responsible for sterilization of equipment,
- other duties as assigned.
The MA works under the guidance of PCMOs and reports to the Peace Corps Country Director (CD) for administrative issues (unless CD authorizes PCMO supervision).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: successful completion of a nursing school (technical/university degree), general medical school/university, medical assistant program, and a valid registered clinical license/diploma or applicable knowledge and experience obtained through on-the-job training or under the direct guidance of a provider (supporting documentation must be submitted).
Prior Work Experience: two years progressively responsible related experience with knowledge of administrative medical duties related to health services for applicants with university degree, or four years of working/clinical experience as a nurse with knowledge of administrative medical duties related to health services.
Language Proficiency: Level 3 or higher of English language proficiency and Level 5 Armenian language proficiency according to the Interagency Language Roundtable

- Ability to meet deadlines, meticulous work habits, attention to detail, and the highest level of integrity and honesty is required;
- Excellent customer service and organization skills, ability to work under pressure;
- Ability to work with staff in all units in a cooperative, team-oriented and collaborative manner;
- Upholding strict confidentiality in working with health documents and records;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Power Point, and Excel);
- Ability and sensitivity to work with Volunteers of various cultural backgrounds.
Final offer will be contingent on ability to pass a US Embassy conducted background check.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior Work Experience: Working experience with foreigners, clerical or secretarial experience desirable.

12,064,366 AMD (Gross) annually, plus benefits
