JOB DESCRIPTION: 

You will support the Embassy's work by providing administrative, logistical, and event coordination support for high-level diplomatic engagements, official visits, public diplomacy activities, and strategic events. This includes contributing to the Embassy's engagement around COP17, the UN Biodiversity Conference being hosted in Yerevan in October 2026, one of the largest international events ever held in Armenia. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in an international and diplomatic environment while contributing to the delivery of Embassy priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Event and Visit Support

- Assist with the planning and delivery of high-level Embassy events, receptions, conferences and official visits.
- Support logistical preparations, including invitations, registrations and event administration.
- Attend events to help ensure smooth on-the-day coordination and delivery.
- Support setup and breakdown of Embassy events and engagements.

Administrative Support

- Provide administrative support to Embassy teams across a range of activities.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing documents and coordinating appointments.
- Support information gathering, note-taking and the preparation of reports and summaries.
- Help monitor timelines and track actions related to events and projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Our ideal candidate shows:

- Fluency in English at C1 level (CEFR) or equivalent, and fluent Armenian C1.
- Current university student or graduate who completed their degree within the last 12 months.
- Experience supporting events, conferences or public engagement activities (e.g. through internships, volunteering, student organisations, or university projects).
- A demonstrated interest in international relations, diplomacy, public policy, political science, communications, or related fields.
- Enthusiasm for event management and the organisation of high-profile events.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Nice to have:

- Interest in public diplomacy, cultural relations, or international development.
- Academic background in public relations, communications, or a related field.

REMUNERATION/ SALARY: 

55,000 AMD gross per month

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background and security clearance.

The successful candidate must have pre-existing work authorisation to work in Armenia, in order to apply. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits.

ABOUT: 

This is a part-time internship contract for 2 months, 20 hours net per week (Monday to Friday) between 09:00 to 17:00. Flexible working is available based on Manager approval and the requirements of the role.
The gross monthly salary is 55,000 AMD, non-negotiable.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Armenia are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Armenian employment law.
